Nevada women’s basketball LaPraisjah Johnson has entered the transfer portal for a second time, she told Nevada Sports Net on Wednesday.

Johnson was one of six Wolf Pack players to enter the transfer portal after the 2019-20 season ended. The other five landed with Division I schools while Johnson removed her name to return to Nevada for a second season. She re-entered the portal this week after being a starter for the Wolf Pack in 2020-21.

A 5-foot-9 guard, Johnson was one of two seniors on Nevada's roster last season, which was her second with the Wolf Pack after stints at two junior-college programs. In 22 games last season, she averaged 7.8 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.0 steals per game. She made 42.3 percent of her shots, including 43.8 percent from three. She also made 80.4 percent of her free throws, getting to the line 56 times, the second most on the team. Johnson was one of the team's top defenders, too.

Those marks were a vast improvement from the prior season when Johnson played in only seven games and tallied 13 points, seven rebounds and two assists in 52 minutes. Prior to playinf for Nevada, Johnson spent one year at South Plains College and another at Cochise College, where she averaged 8.1 points and 4.2 rebounds per game.

Johnson is the second Wolf Pack player to enter the transfer portal this offseason, joining Dom Phillips. Johnson is a grad transfer with one season of eligibility remaining at her next school thanks to the NCAA granted an additional year to all winter-sport athletes.
