The Nevada volleyball team falls against host team at the Cal tournament in 3-0 this Friday afternoon. The Pack is now 1-6 in the season and will be playing Butler later this evening at 4:30 p.m..

Sophomore Reka Monteleone, led the Pack with eight kills, following by freshman Sydney Wyman and junior Sydney Petersen with six kills, and a .250 and .100 in hitting percentage, respectively. Junior Andrea Alcaraz, led the team in assists (16) and in service aces (4). Senior Kaila Spevak and freshman Sophie Mangold paced the Pack in digs with a score of 11 each.

Nevada started the set point-by-point against the Bears. A sequence of three aces by Alcaraz put the Pack in a 9-7 lead. The team was able to hold the lead until the Bears had a sequence of three points to take over the lead, and finish the set in 25-19. Monteleone led the Pack with four kills in this set.

In the second set, Nevada held the lead all the way up to 15 points with a combination of kills by the Pack offense and errors by the Bears. Cal was able to tied the game at 15-15, and ended up taking the lead to finish the set in 25-22. The Pack was led by Petersen, Wyman, Monteleone, and freshman Sia Liilii with two kills each in the set.

Going into the third set, the Bears put a four point lead, and the Pack was not able to follow. Wyman led the Pack for the set with a score of three kills. Cal closed the match in 25-14, to sweep Nevada in 3-0.
