Nevada golfers Quim Vidal Mora and Victoria Gailey swept the Northern Nevada Amateur Championships last weekend.

Vidal Mora carded a two-day score of 8 under to best the field by four strokes at Toiyabe Golf Club. A transfer from Jacksonville State, Vidal Mora shot matching rounds of 68 with Wolf Pack teammates Mitch Abbott (-4), A.J. Lintunen (-3), Adam Thorp (-1), and Peyton Callens (E) rounding out the top five. Overall, the Wolf Pack had nine members of its roster finish among the top 11 on the final leaderboard. Michael Sarro (sixth), Connor Motherway (seventh), Tom Patterson (10th), and Sean Minor (t11th) all finished in the top half of the leaderboard.

"This was a great win for Quim, and a good event for our program," Nevada golf coach Jacob Wilner said in a news release. "To have nine players compete, and have them all finish in the top 11 is awesome. It was a great way to kick off our qualifying as we prepare for Air Force and our fall season."

Gailey's victory at the Northern Nevada Amateur Championships also came at Toiyabe Golf Club. She won the Oregon Stroke Play Championship and Oregon Public Links earlier this summer.

The Wolf Pack men open the 2021-22 campaign Sept. 10-12 at the Gene Miranda Invitational in Colorado Springs, Colo. The Wolf Pack women open the season Sept. 19-21 at the Coeur D'Alene Collegiate Invitational in Idaho.
