Women's soccer falls to #3 Snow College after tough second half (TMCC Athletics)

TMCC’s Women’s side fell to Snow College in a 4-0 result on Thursday, the final game of their two-game road trip to open conference play.

Good defensive work from the Lizards headlined the first half, as TMCC limited the 3rd ranked Badgers chances while doing well to maintain possession in the midfield. The Lizards spoiled a good chance for the Badgers in the 25th minute, when good defensive work from Emily Mendoza-Obeso kept the hosts from punching in a well-placed cross.

A great save from Stella Poste for TMCC at the half hour mark kept the score tied at 0-0, after a shot from the Badgers nearly snuck inside the post.

Snow opened the scoring in the 40th minute, putting one in from top of the 18-yard box. The attempt was just the second put on target for the Badgers in the first half due to good defense from TMCC backs Kennedy Ficklin and Colby Bera.

The Badgers would widen their advantage to two just three minutes into the second half on an own goal from the Lizards, and add another to go up by three mid-way through the final 45.

TMCC would continue to fight, Snow would find the net on a corner for their fourth score of the day before time expired.

The Lizards will travel home to Reno before their next contest, a Thursday afternoon meeting with Community Christian College (Redlands, CA). Kickoff is set for 3:00PM, and the match will be streamed live on the Lizards Sports Network.
