The Douglas High softball team defeated Spanish Springs 2-1 on Thursday afternoon to clinch a spot in the regional championship game and state tournament next week. Douglas will face the winner of Spanish Springs-Reed at Noon on Saturday at Bishop Manogue. The Tigers are one win away from claiming a regional title.
The Bishop Manogue baseball team defeated Douglas, 5-3 on Friday, then defeated Galena 12-11 en route to a trip to the regional championship game against Reno and next week's state tournament. First pitch at Peccole Park is at 10 a.m. on Saturday. The Huskies are one win away from their third consecutive regional title.
