The Wolf Pack announced Monday the creation of The Howler, the official craft beer of Nevada athletics.

Four Peaks Brewing, owned by Anheuser-Busch InBev and based out of Tempe, Ariz., partnered with Wolf Pack Sports Properties and Nevada athletics to produce the signature beer.

The Howler is a golden lager with a 5.2 percent ABV and is being dubbed as the "latest initiative to grow the Wolf Pack brand and enhance the best fan experience in Nevada." The Howler will be on tap at Mackay Stadium beginning this Friday’s matchup between the Wolf Pack and UNLV. It will be available in stores beginning the week of Nov. 1.

Fans are invited to The Lil Waldorf on Tuesday for a sampling of The Howler from 5-7 p.m.

“We are thrilled to partner with Nevada athletics and bring the Howler to Mackay Stadium," Four Peaks general manager Christopher Meyer said in a news release. "

Four Peaks Brewing Co. was founded in 1996. Its brewers have won 24 combined medals at the Great American Beer Festival and World Beer Cup. Anchored by the flagship Kilt Lifter Scottish-style ale, Four Peaks beers are currently available in Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Hawaii, Texas, California, Colorado and Utah.

In March, Nevada athletics debuted "Wolf Pack Ale," which at the time was called the "officially licensed craft beer of the University of Nevada."
