Not only is Steve Alford a man of his word when it comes to keeping his golf bets. He apparently even pays up when he wins the bet.

As part of the Reno Tahoe Golf Tour, Nevada Sports Net has been featuring local golf courses this week, including stops at Old Greenwood, The Links at Squaw Creek, Clear Creek and most recently Edgewood Tahoe, where Nevada basketball head coach Steve Alford and associate head coach Craig Neal joined NSN's Alex Margulies on the course.

Alex's first attempt at hammering out the details on a wager came on the 17th hole, the famous lakefront par 3. Loser on the hole had to jump in Lake Tahoe. But neither coach took the offer, and they should have after Alex's tee shot struggled to make it to the women's tee box.

On the 18th, another bet was hatched. If Alex could drain a 50-footer for birdie, the coaches would jump in the lake. But if he three-putted, Alex had to take the plunge. The final result? A three-putt, so Alex's fate was sealed. Despite winning the bet, Alford joined him in jumping into Lake Tahoe. As for Neal? No way.

Here's an eight-minute feature produced by Brian Kulpa that's capped with Alex and Alford taking the plunge.
