The Wolf Pack soccer team took on the University of Idaho Vandals on Sunday afternoon at home, which saw a very large defensive battle.

The first half was quiet for both teams, as no goals were scored in the 45 minute half. Idaho just edged out Nevada in shots with a total of 5 in the half. The Pack had 4 shots. Lancers’ goalie senior Avrie Fox led the half with three total saves. Junior Emily McCue had one.

The second half is where both teams saw a very aggressive 45 minutes. There were a total of three yellow cards during the half. One on Vandals’ junior Sidney Schmitdt, one on freshman Caly Ah Soon, and one on senior Hannah Souza. Idaho would end up on top, as senior Savannah Foster would score the single goal of the game. Giving the Vandals their fifth win of the season, and third straight.

Sophomore Lauren Muff would finish the game leading the Pack in shots with three. Junior Brooklyn Blake would be just behind her with two shots on goal. McCue would give up only one goal and have one save in her second career start with the Pack.

The Pack will not play again until next Sunday, when they hit the road and take on Saint Mary’s College at 1 P.M
