Wolf Pack diver Isabel Vazquez Lopez was named the Mountain West Diver of the Week on Tuesday, the junior's fifth weekly honor of her career.

The native of Guadalajara, Mexico won both of her events in her 2021 debut Saturday in a meet against UNLV. Vazquez Lopez claimed first in the 1- and 3-meter with final scores of 322.50 and 368.77 points, respectively. Her 1-meter score of 322.50 ranked sixth in Nevada history. In addition, her 3-meter score of 368.77 was career high and ranked fifth in school history.

“She did awesome this weekend,” head diving coach Jian Li You said in a news release. “She’s such a hard worker, so her performance doesn’t surprise me one bit. This year has been a lot different than what we're used to, but that doesn't stop her from working hard and competing at a high level.”

Vazquez Lopez and the Wolf Pack dive team return to action on Feb. 5-6 at the Air Force Diving Invitational. It is the team's last meet before the Mountain West Championships.
