For the second time in 2021, Nevada senior Dillan Shrum has earned All-American honors, this time from D1Baseball.

Shrum was named to D1Baseball’s All-American second team, which was announced Monday. He recently earned second-team All-American honors from ABCA/Rawlings and was also named to their West All-Region team. Shrum was one of two Mountain West players to earn All-American status from D1Baseball, along with Air Force’s Paul Skenes.

The 2021 Mountain West Tony Gwynn Player of the Year, Shrum had a career year, finishing the regular season as the national leader in batting average (.479) and slugging percentage (.992). His final slugging percentage of .968 remains the country's best; his final batting average of .468 is second through June 15. His 15 home runs are a single-season career-high and led the MW, as did his .521 on base percentage. Other single-season career totals Shrum hit this year include hits (58), RBIs (47) and runs scored (35) in a shortened season of just 35 games.

During league play, which spanned just 21 games for Shrum, he batted .550 with 44 hits, 12 home runs, 10 doubles, 36 RBIs and 31 runs in 80 at-bats. He was named the Mountain West player of the week following the final week of the regular season after he went 12-for-15 at the plate with six home runs during the series against San José State.

Shrum was instrumental to the Wolf Pack's success in 2021 as Nevada captured the MW regular-season title, going 22-9 in conference play while reaching its first NCAA Regional appearance since 2000, where Nevada went 0-2 as Shrum was hit by pitch four times.
