A busy spring season is about to begin for the Nevada men’s golf team as the Wolf Pack will make its spring debut this weekend at the Jackrabbit Invitational.

The two-day, 54-hole tournament will begin on Friday with the first 36 holes and will conclude on Saturday with the final 18. The event is being held at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nev., just outside of Las Vegas, and is hosted by South Dakota State.

The Wolf Pack is more than familiar with this event having competed in it two other times. Nevada did not participate in the event last season, but teed it up in back-to-back years in 2017 and 2018. The Pack won the team title at this tournament three years ago, however the venue has changed.

Head coach Jacob Wilner will send seven of his players to this event, with two entered as individuals. Redshirt freshman Mitch Abbott and newcomer Peyton Callens will be the two competing as individuals, meaning their scores will not count towards the team score. As for the official Wolf Pack lineup it will be led by seniors Sam Harned, Sam Meek and Tony Gil, along with sophomore Trey Davis and freshman Connor Motherway. Harned posted a dynamite fall season, compiling a scoring average of 70.0 to lead the team. He won the fall opener at the Badger Invitational, his first career victory, and recorded three top five finishes in six events.

Live scoring for the entire tournament will be available on
