Redshirt freshman Carson Strong overcome adversity during his senior year of high school - not playing a a single snap due to an injury, but Nevada stuck with him through it all.

The Vacaville native shadowed former starting quarterback Ty Gangi and now senior Cristian Solano during his first season with the Pack while redshirting and arriving on campus a semester sooner than most high school students.

On the football field, the two-sport athlete threw for 2,732 yards, posting 26 touchdowns and threw just four interceptions in 10 games his junior year. In basketball, Strong averaged 18.1 points, 12.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists per game posting 21 double-doubles as a junior.

Nevada Sports Net had the chance to catch up with Strong in the video above about competing for the starting job.
