Gardnerville native Leah Withrow grew up playing soccer and watching sports her entire life, particularly baseball with one of her neighbors that would frequently babysit her. It wasn't until her later years in high school while looking at colleges, that she decided to pursue a degree in sports turf grass management.

Fast-forward five years later, Withrow received a Bachelor of Science in sports turf grass management from North Dakota State. During her time in school, she did internships with the Reno Aces and Milwaukee Brewers and landed a job in the Northern Arizona University's athletic department upon graduating.

Withrow returned to the Biggest Little City in December 2018 as a full-time field operations assistant with the Reno Aces and Reno 1868 FC. She is currently the only full-time female groundskeeper in Triple-A baseball.
