Reno 1868 FC comes up short against Portland Timbers 2

Reno 1868 FC couldn't make a comeback at Greater Nevada Field after a late goal by Corey Hertzog as they fell 3-1 to the Portland Timbers 2.

Portland scored their first goal in the 26th minute and controlled the tempo from there, leading 2-0 at halftime and scoring again in the 51st minute. Hertzog netted his 13th goal of the year in the 82nd minute after an assist from Duke Lacroix, but it wasn't enough to get the victory.

Reno sits in third place in the Western Conference and will face the second place Fresno FC in a pivotal playoff game next Saturday, September 7th at Greater Nevada Field. Kickoff set for 7p.m.

Here's the highlights and a wrap up from Julian Del Gaudio at Greater Nevada Field.
