Nevada's Caroline named Mountain West player of the week

RENO, Nev. – University of Nevada senior Jordan Caroline has been named the Mountain West Player of the Week after helping the fifth ranked Wolf Pack to a pair of road wins as the team improved to 8-0 on the season. It is the fourth career MW weekly honor for Caroline and second this season. It is the third MW weekly honor for a Pack player this season.

In the two games Caroline averaged 19.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists playing 36 minutes per contest. In his return to his home state of Illinois on Tuesday he scored 15 points and grabbed six rebounds at Loyola Chicago as the Pack won 79-65. He connected on 6-of-10 shots in the victory.

At USC he posted his sixth double-double of the season, finishing with a game-high 24 points and had 11 rebounds in the 73-61 victory over the Pac-12 Trojans. The double-double was the 33rd of his career which ranks fourth in school history.

In the two games he shot 46.9 percent from the field, 40 percent on his 3-point attempts and 58.3 percent at the free throw line.

Caroline also moved into 15th on the Nevada scoring list passing Luke Babbitt with his 1,328 points in the Silver & Blue. Collegiately his 1,631 points when you include his 303 from Southern Illinois is 14th among active Division I players.
