McQueen High alum JD Kolb has decided to leave the Air Force Academy and enter his name into the NCAA transfer portal.
The running back took to Twitter on Tuesday morning to announce his decision saying he's glad to got to experience the Air Force Academy and thanked his coaching staff for the opportunity.
The Air Force Falcons opened up their 2019-20 season with a 48-7 win over the Colgate Raiders. Kolb did not see any playing time during the season opener.
In high school, Kolb was considered the second-leading rusher in the Northern 4A behind Bishop Manogue's Peyton Dixon. Kolb graduated from McQueen High School in June 2019. The leave comes just weeks into his freshman season.
Kolb, the nephew of former NFL running back DeMarco Murray, will be a mid-year transfer in January. Kolb's legal guardian, former Nevada running backs coach David White, left the university in March to take a head coaching position at a Mississippi high school.
