Northern Nevada teams fall in first day of 4A State Tournament

A pair of teams from Northern Nevada saw their season come to an end at the state 4A tournament in Las Vegas.

The Reno Huskies girls dropped their content to Desert Oasis High School by a 66-32 final. In the boys bracket, Spanish Spring was upended 72-56 by Arbor View.

The two Northern 4A Champions will compete in the state tournament on Thursday. The Spanish Springs girls, fresh off their first ever regional title, will take on Bishop Gorman at 4:45 p.m. from the Orleans Arena. Bishop Manogue rides high in the boys bracket after winning their first title since 2011. They will take on Clark High School at 3:00 p.m. from the Orleans.
