The Damonte Ranch Mustangs are looking to keep the momentum going this season despite the departure of prolific quarterback Cade McNamara.

The Mustangs finished the 2018-19 season with a 12-1 record overall and were undefeated in league play.

Damonte Ranch fell to Bishop Manogue 49-48 in a heart breaker in overtime of the Northern 4A Championship — the winner would go on to play Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas for the state title.

Head coach Shawn Dupris said the loss is what motivates he and his team to continuously do better and keep fighting.

The Mustangs will open up their non-conference schedule with two Northern California teams — They will head to Granite Bay on Friday, August 30 and will host Rocklin the following week.
