The Northern Nevada playoffs are in full swing this week, with four games at the 4A level and two each at the 3A, 2A and 1A levels. Here is a look at the those games, with larger breakdowns of the large-class division.

4A level

No. 1 Spanish Springs vs. No. 4 Wooster

Where: Spanish Springs

When: 7 p.m. Friday

Records: Spanish Springs 7-3/4-0; Wooster 3-7/2-3

In short: Spanish Springs has won seven straight games ... The Cougars won their second straight High Desert League title ... Spanish Springs is looking to reach its first Northern 4A state title game ... The Cougars are under the direction of first-year coach Rob Hummel ... Spanish Springs has pitched shutouts in three of its last seven games, including its regular-season game with Wooster ... In short: Damonte Ranch won its fourth straight Sierra League title ... The Mustangs have the highest ranking in the state, per MaxPreps, at No. 4 .... Damonte Ranch was runner-up for the Northern 4A title last season ... The Mustangs have won their last nine games after opening the season with a 25-6 loss to Granite Bay ... Damonte Ranch has out-scored opponents, 365-132 ... Sophomore running back Ashton Hayes, who already has a scholarship offer from Nevada, has rushed for 1,945 yards and 26 touchdowns .... He gained 222 yards in the first game with Reno ... Receiver Nick Vargas has 33 catches for 709 yards and eight touchdowns ... Reno fired coach Jon Haskins on Monday; Haskins said he will pursue legal options against the school ... Bruce Campbell will serve as interim coach ... The Huskies started the season 7-1 but has lost its last two games ... Reno is a run-heavy team, running the ball on 72 percent of its plays ... Running back Drew Worthen has rushed for 1,512 yards and 20 touchdowns ... Worthen also has seven interceptions and two forced fumbles ... Mick Carey leads the team with 109 tackles, including 6.5 for loss.

No. 2 Bishop Manogue vs. No. 3 McQueen

Manogue has had an adversity-filled season that include canceling a game because of team-wide food poisoning and having two games moved because of a school-wide whooping cough ... The Miners have won four games in a row by a combined score of 204-43 ... Manogue has two players committed to FBS schools: OT Joey Wright (USC) and LB Vai Kaho (Nevada) ... Mangoue's two losses to Northern Nevada schools have come to No. 1 seeds Spanish Springs and Damonte Ranch ... Quarterback Drew Scolari has thrown for 1,507 yards, 20 touchdowns and five interceptions ... Zeke Lee has rushed for 1,110 yards and five scores ... McQueen has won its last two games, including a 37-34 double-overtime upset of Reno in the regular-season finale ... The Lancers are 1-4 against teams in this year's playoffs and have been out-scored 269-84 in those contests ... Quarterback Cody Ciglar has thrown for 784 yards, 12 touchdowns and six interceptions ... Sophomore Robby Snelling leads the Lancers with 79tackles, including 11.5 for loss. He has 4.5 sacks, two interceptions and two forced fumbles.

No. 2 Reed vs. No. 3 Douglas

In short: Reed suffered a loss in the final seconds to rival Spanish Springs in the regular-season finale or else it would have won the top seed in the High Desert League ... The Raiders lost their final two games of the regular season (to Reno and Spanish Springs). ... Reed is averaging 41.2 points per game and scored a season-high 63 in its first game with Douglas ... Quarterback Jack Franz has thrown for 1,657 yards, 17 touchdowns and seven interceptions ... Running back Elijah Tau-tolliver has rushed for 1,116 yards and 16 touchdowns ... Ezra Belingheri and Roman Villegas have combined for 30 tackles for loss ... Douglas won its regular-season finale against Carson to qualify for the playoffs ... The Tigers had lost six of its previous seven games prior to that victory ... Douglas went 1-5 against playoff teams and was out-scored 269-103 in those games ... Running back Trevor Kruger, a junior, rushed for 1,234 yards and seven touchdowns ... Sophomore Gabe Foster leads the team with 85 tackles ...
