The Nevada women's basketball team's non-conference schedule includes a game with the Pac-12's Utah and a spot in a tournament at USC.
The Wolf Pack announced its 11-game non-league slate Thursday and the schedule includes six home games, including two in the annual Nugget Classic.
Nevada will open the season at home against Saint Mary's on Nov. 5 in what will be a doubleheader with the Wolf Pack men's team, which has its season opener with Utah scheduled for that day. Saint Mary’s went 21-12 and reached the WNIT's second round last season.
The Wolf Pack's Nugget Classic will be held on Nov. 29 and Dec. 1 and feature Nevada, Stephen F. Austin (25-7 last year), UC Santa Barbara (8-22) and Chicago State (2-28). The matchups for that tournament are still to be determined. Stanislaus State will visit Reno for the third consecutive season Dec. 10 for the eighth annual "When I Grow Up" game. It will mark the Warriors' fourth time participating in this event.
Nevada's game at Utah on Dec. 14 is the only guaranteed contest against a Power 5 opponent after the Wolf Pack faced four such teams last year, all at home. The Utes went 20-10 last season. The Wolf Pack also will play in a two-game tournament hosted by USC from Dec. 20-21. Matchups for that event will be announced at a later date.
The Wolf Pack is coming off a 12-19 season, including a 7-11 mark in MW play, in Amanda Levens' second season. Here is a full look at the 2019-20 non-league schedule.
