Nevada has hired veteran broadcaster Josh Suchon as the school's new radio play-by-play voice for women's basketball and baseball, Learfield IMG College announced Friday.

Suchon has broadcast New Mexico's women's basketball games since 2015 and called Triple-A Albuquerque Isotopes baseball since 2013. His previous play-by-play experience includes the MLB's Colorado Rockies and Los Angeles Dodgers' spring training; college and prep basketball for ESPNU; and college basketball, softball and baseball games for ESPN3. Early in his career, Suchon handled play-by-play duties for UC Santa Barbara basketball.

"Josh is incredibly talented, and it was apparent he was the right choice for the Wolf Pack as we sourced this opening and vetted the most qualified candidates," Tom Boman, Learfield IMG College's vice president, broadcast operations, said in a news release. "We're proud to represent Nevada, and we feel certain fans will enjoy Josh's energy and style as he calls Wolf Pack game action over the airwaves."

As part of its overall rights relationship with the Wolf Pack, Learfield IMG College oversees all aspects of the Nevada Wolf Pack Sports Network, including identifying the talent and securing affiliate radio stations. Wolf Pack Sports Properties is Learfield IMG College's local team solely dedicated to representing Nevada Athletics.

"I've been to the Reno/Tahoe area so many times in my life, for vacations and work, it feels like I'm coming home," Suchon said in a news release. "I'm thrilled to represent the University of Nevada and move to an area where my immediate family now lives. I'm looking forward to working with Amanda Levens and T.J. Bruce, all the Wolf Pack student-athletes, the Wolf Pack fans, and becoming an active participant in the entire university."
