The Nevada football team's schedule, which includes games against six bowl teams from a season ago, was released by the Mountain West on Monday.
The Wolf Pack opens the season Aug. 31 at home against Purdue and ends it Nov. 30 at home against UNLV. The home schedule also includes games against Weber State, Hawaii, San Jose State and New Mexico. Purdue is just the second Big 10 team to visit Mackay Stadium, joining Northwestern in 2006.
Nevada has road contests against Oregon, UTEP, Utah State, Wyoming, San Diego State and Fresno State.
The early portion of the Wolf Pack's schedule could allow Nevada to get off to a good start. The team opens with Purdue, which went 6-7 last season, before a tough game at Oregon, which should open the season nationally ranked. Then comes FCS school Weber State before a game at UTEP, which went 1-11 last season. After that are home games with Hawaii and San Jose State before a two-game road trip to Utah State and Wyoming.
Nevada will have some tough tests at the end of the year when it will play at San Diego State and at Fresno State before finishing the regular season with UNLV.
The Wolf Pack returns five starters on offense and four on defense from last season's 8-5 team.
