Health concern moves Damonte Ranch-Reed 4A semifinal back five days

The Northern 4A semifinal game between Damonte Ranch and Reed has been moved from Friday to the following Wednesday due to a health concern at Damonte Ranch.

The Washoe County School District confirmed to our sister station, KRNV, there are three confirmed cases of whooping cough or pertussis at Damonte Ranch High.

In consultation with the Washoe County Health District and the Washoe County School District, the game was moved back five days, which also will impact when the Northern 4A title game is played.

The other 4A semifinal, which pits Bishop Manogue and Spanish Springs, will go on as scheduled for Friday 7 p.m. The Damonte Ranch-Reed game will remain at Damonte Ranch with a 6 p.m. kickoff.

As a result of the semifinal change, the Northern 4A Region championship will be played Monday, Nov. 25 at 6 p.m. at a to-be-determine site. The game was originally scheduled for Friday, Nov. 22.
