Gardnerville's Steven Jacobo was one of three pilots picked to compete for the United States in the upcoming Para Bobsled World Cup.

Will Castillo had his spot locked up prior to recent qualifications, while Jacobo and Rick Evans were selected to pilot the USA 2 and USA 3 sleds after three days of competing.

“The athletes selected bring a wealth of sliding experience to the team,” USABS Para Sliding Sports Committee Chair Kim Seevers said in a news release. “We’re looking forward to seeing how both the Para World Cup and American Para Cup seasons shake out.”

Jacobo owns two sixth-place Para World Cup finishes in his career and earns his fourth national team berth this season. Team USA slides into World Cup action Dec. 7-8 in Lillehammer, Norway. National team domestic members return to the ice for the American Para Cup and Empire State Games competitions in January.

We caught up with Jacobo in March this year. Here was that interview.
