Moses Wood, a Galena High graduate who played for Tulane as a freshman this season, has put his name in the NCAA transfer portal and will explore moving to a new school.
Wood, a 6-foot-8, 190-pound wing player. announced his decision Thursday night, although he said a return to the Green Wave wasn't out of the question. Tulane fired coach Mike Dunleavy Sr. after the team went 4–27 overall and 0–18 in the AAC this season.
Wood was a three-star recruit coming out of high school and also held an offer from San Francisco, LaSalle and Hofstra. He was the No. 224-ranked recruit in the 2018 class by 247Sports.com.
As a freshman, Wood averaged 4.5 points, 3.1 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game for Tulane. He logged 18.1 minutes per game, shooting 39.1 percent from the field, 37.3 percent from three and 78.4 percent from the free throw line.
Wood averaged 20 points per game as a senior at Galena. His father, David, played for the Wolf Pack before a seven-year NBA career.
